See whether your skincare routine is working

capture, re-capture, watch

Skin changes slowly and unevenly, and memory is a poor judge of it. A photo every few days from the same distance in the same light is the only honest record of whether a routine, a product or a prescription is doing anything. Recaptr keeps those photos lined up and plays them back.

How it works

Why the overlay matters

Skin photos are unforgiving about framing. Move the phone an inch closer and every pore looks worse; tilt the head and a shadow reads as a mark. The overlay pins the eyes, the nose and the jawline to the same spot, so the only thing changing between frames is the skin.

Questions

How often should I photograph my skin?

Often enough to catch a breakout come and go, rarely enough to smooth out a bad night's sleep. A weekly reminder with extra captures when something is happening works well. Keep the time of day fixed.

What about lighting?

Use the same window at the same time, no flash. The overlay handles position; you handle the light. If you have to shoot at night, use the same lamp in the same place every time.

Will this tell me if a product works?

It shows you what changed and when. Note the day you started something and compare the frames either side of it. Recaptr does not analyse skin or give advice; it keeps the record straight so you, or whoever advises you, can judge.

Where are my photos kept?

On your device. Close-up skin photos stay on your phone unless you turn on cloud backup with Pro, and nothing is analysed or uploaded by default. You can export or delete everything at any time.
