Your bump, week by week, in one clip
capture, re-capture, watch
The bump changes so gradually that you mostly notice it in other people's reactions. A photo a week from the same spot, side on, turns nine months into a clip you will watch more than any other. Recaptr lines each photo up with the last and plays the series back.

How it works
- Start a project when you decide to begin. Week 12 is common, but any week works.
- Stand side on in the same doorway or against the same wall. Each time you capture, a faint overlay of last week's photo shows through, so the bump lands in the same place in the frame.
- Set a weekly reminder. Same day, same time, ideally in the morning before the day has had its say.
- Keep the outfit simple and similar. A fitted top shows the shape; the overlay handles the rest.
- Compile the series whenever you like and watch the bump grow, scrubbing week to week.
- Share the clip with family, or keep it for the baby to see later.
Why the overlay matters
A bump timelapse falls apart if the camera height or the distance drifts from week to week. The overlay holds the doorframe, the shoulders and the hip line steady across the months, so the only thing moving is the bump.
Questions
When should I start?
Whenever you like. Many people start around week 12, when there is something to see. Starting earlier just gives you more of the flat weeks for contrast.
Every week or every day?
Weekly. Day-to-day change is invisible and the playback gets long. One photo a week gives a run of frames that flows, and a weekly reminder is easy to keep.
Does someone else need to take the photo?
Not necessarily. The overlay works with the front camera, or with the phone propped on a shelf. A partner holding the phone from the same spot works too; the overlay guides whoever is shooting.
Where are my photos kept?
On your device. Bump photos stay on your phone unless you turn on cloud backup with Pro. You can export or delete them at any time.
Free to start. Recaptr Pro adds cloud backup, 1080p exports, and no watermark.
